Retail meets hospitality at KitKat Chocolatory’s newest boutique in Sydney. A full range of exclusive KitKat flavours combined with interactive Create Your Break kiosks, a sit-down café offer and the theatre of chocolate creation live in boutique.
Our brief was to re-imaginine the KitKat retail environment by creating a product focused, social chocolate experience. To encourage guests to explore, personalise and indulge….and to tell their friends about it. More than
just a brand statement, the store had to be profitable in its own right - and to create sales beyond its leaseline via online and click and collect.
We broke the mould of previous stores by focusing on product rather than architecture. Wall displays sweep right around the store and incorporate interactive Create Your Break kiosks. Movement is everywhere, expressed in the LED screens at the kiosks, the retro-look Trivision screen on the back wall, and the re-purposed sushi train of custom KitKat bars on the front counter. We wanted this to be an environment that guests visit regularly, not just a once-only shop, so the coffee offer is right on the lease line for coffee drinkers who pass through regularly. The overall effect is of a hosted experience, rather than a passive display.
